Part of a series of footwear design inspired by Deep Ocean Creatures, 2022.
The aim of this project is to raise awareness about the pollution in our Ocean and to remind people the true beauty of nature. Foo: ‘I believe beautiful fashion shouldn’t cost the Earth! Plastic waste makes up 80% of all marine pollution and around 8 to 10tons of plastic end up in the ocean each year. Research states that, by 2050, plastic will likely outweigh all fish in the sea. Yet, not all-plastic waste in the ocean is an effect of littering: many plastics and microplastics are the product of improper manufacturing processes and about 20% of the ocean’s plastic pollution come from industrial fishing.
I am using latest AI & 3D digital technologies to create new designs, we could try on digital fashion clothing using AR nowadays which will reduce carbon footprint. Although customizable 3D printing product may save us materials during production process but the key is we have to educating people to consume less and buying considerably. As a designer and manufacturer we have the responsibility to reduce the usage of leather and plastic, and consider to make product using biodegradable or recycled materials.’
