Annie Foo, a London & Hong Kong based Innovative Footwear & Accessories designer who studied BA at Central St Martins and MA Fashion Womenswear – Footwear at the Royal College of Art London. As a contemporary designer, she is defining a new era of modern footwear and determined to explore innovative methods of making whilst merging style with a desire to help reduce the impact fashion has on the future environment. Her work is strongly inspired by linear construction, London pop culture, architecture structure, organic form and contemporary abstract art. She is fascinated to combine existing footwear making methods with digital technologies and modern materials for her collections, exploring an innovative way of crafting her footwear and accessories in Virtual Reality to create new three dimensional forms of futuristic footwear.
Foo: ‘I’m a sculptor and have worked with different raw materials from ceramic, wood, metal and plastic etc.,
I understand that each material has its own characteristics, benefits and limitations. For the complexity and integrated details of my footwear structure, 3D printing is a suitable option for my project. Coming from fashion industrial background, I’m determined to explore innovative methods of making whilst merging style with desire to help reduce the impact fashion has on the environment.
