The Lost Purse

Stasha Chimbur

Painting on canvas – assemblage, based on photographic elements, 2010.

In this way the painting surface is created which represents, on the iconographic level, the fashion gear objects while the drawing is made with a needle and thread. This collection of works glorifies the sensuality of the woman’s body, represented with the symbols of tactility -fingers and hands, the symbols of vision – eyes, and the symbols of tastefulness -lips and mouth.

The inspiration for these pieces of work is the famous refrain of the song ‘See Me, Feel Me, Touch Me’ by The Who, which in a way suggests the communicative and consumer-like aspects of our existence.
