Rutger de Nooij

Elegant raw sanded leather heelless mules with soft tufted insoles and thin leather laces, 2025.

Rutger: ‘My idea was to create a shoe constructed of only three parts: main structure, sole and lining. The design also incorporated a large contrast between the raw and crude outside upper and the soft and lush lining. The result was a wedge heeled shoe with the main strucure made of flax which was vacuum infused with bioresin. The sole and heel consist of one single part. JR sole leather was split and used fort the covering aswell as the upper giving the shoe a rough outside. The lining made of goat crust hand colored red with a golden translucent finish.’
