Luvmyshoes by Anne Poesen

The Dutch Leather and Shoe Museum presents the shoe designs by Belgium designer Anne Poesen in a mini exhibition from 15th of November till 17th of February 2013.

Her passion for footwear led Anne Posen to design her first shoe while studying civil engineering and architecture at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. After a short course of footwear design at Ars Arpel in Milan, she worked as a stylist for La Perla. Next to her freelance shoe- and bag design assignments she started to lecture footwear design at the Academy of Fine Arts Sint-Niklaas (SASK) in 2006. With her drive and passion for design and with the help of shoe maker Patrick Creemers she’s creating one of the best departments for shoe design.

This summer the shoe designs of some of her students appeared in a mini-exhibition in Waalwijk. Now it’s her turn. Studying architecture made her look at designing bags and shoes from another perspective, pushing her to go beyond the boundaries of classical shoe and bag making, to explore new materials and to look for clear concepts and pure shapes… Her shoe designs are a reflection of her character: modest but with a very interesting layering, which only becomes clear when one takes the time to have look good!

From the outside the shoes looks like a common pump, from the inside the reflected light creates a visual gap in the surface.
