Artist José Taborda works and lives in Lisboa, Portugal.
He explores the reliability and malleability of perception, cognition and memory through multidisciplinary media. Utilizing immersive or interactive installations to expand preconceived notions about the sensory system.
Through constant research and experimentation in different areas such as mechanics, optics, sound, neurosciences and biology, Taborda seeks to materialize his work with a wide range of technical solutions and materials with fewer physical restrictions.
Degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, studying also Fine Arts at the Bauhaus Universität in Weimar, Germany.
Winner of the 1st Millennium BCP Foundation A.J. PRIZE – C.D.A.P.
Winner of the 1st Prize D. Fernando Sculpture Prize.
Awarded the Bauhaus Essentials Prize.
