Goldberg: ‘Amidst the rapid technological advancements and the increasingly blurred boundaries between humans and the artificial, a sense of uncertainty in our perceptions has taken root. As artificial intelligence progresses, I ponder what truly sets us apart as humans. My project involves the creation of two pairs of shoes that delve into the eerie connection between humans and artificial intelligence, accentuating the feeling of the familiar yet alien. Leveraging the power of 3D technology, I’ve crafted distorted replicas of human bones. The shoes are built with anatomical connectors that translate the human body’s movement into a sensation of instability. Like the products of artificial intelligence, this creation is also imperfect – it mirrors reality but distorts it. The bones serve as a symbol for the tangible, the real, yet they don’t quite replicate human bones. The line between the artificial and the human is blurred and sharpened by the destabilising effect of the shoes. ’
