3Dportal X Above Humanity

You know that feeling… you have an idea in mind and wonder if it’s makeable in 3D. Designer Duran Lanting thought so too. He realized his idea of ​​humanity by combining 3D scans with 3D models into one towering shoe in cooperation with 3DPortal and 3DSystems Benelux.



Well… shoe, this shoe is on the edge of being fashion or art. The shoe was on display at the shoe exhibition Elevation at MºBA 13’s ‘Fetishism in Fashion’ in Arnhem and at the Amsterdam Fashion week in Amsterdam, July 2013. The material of this 3D print is acura clear view, that gives a stunning effect in combination with light.

3Dportal tries to fill the gap between the inspired designer who wants to work with 3D technology and the endless possibilities which exist in our world. By making the ideas of this young fashion designer come alive we have shown that having a lack of computer skills does not necessarily have to mean that there is no future for you in 3D. 3Dportal strives to make more and more designers acquainted with this technology and possibilities and help the 3D revolution! 3Dportal decides within every project with who we cooperate, for the shoe by Duran Lanting it was 3Dsystems Benelux.

The next 3D project will be with Fashion designer Saba Tark. Collaboration is the key for new idea’s, so we are opening a new world and work together on new, experimental products.
