The winners of the 5th International Footwear Design Competition (IFDC) 2013

Candidates from nine countries and regions of China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam submitted their 182 entries for the competition revealing a dazzling variety of creative and stylish footwear.


The Juror committee: Ms. Jiang Zhiqun and mr. Chen Xiao Ming, Frankie (China, Beijing & Guangzhou), mr. Lo Chung Pak and mr. William Wong (Hong Kong), dr. Claudia Schulz (Germany), IMr. M. Rafeeque Ahmed (India), ms. Ratna Utarianingrum (Indonesia), mr. Bill Keith (Malaysia), ms. Vivien Hsieh (Taiwan), mr. Pairoj Kiattikomol (Thailand) and ms. Tran Thi Tuyet Mai (Vietnam), gave points for creativity, materials usage, aesthetics, appearance and presentation ability.

For individual groups there are awards and certificates for the champion, 1st Runner up, 2nd Runner up of each category.

Sabatina awards
Money price for scholarship to be used as course fee related to shoe manufacturing or design within the award winner’s enrolling region. These awards are only for the individual group (not for enterprise group). among the 6 champions from each individual category, the Jury voted for:

Sabatina Gold Award (HK$50,000.- for scholarship) for
Duong Ngoc Lan Chi* from Vietnam for the shoe ‘Half of the World and Freedom’.

Sabatina Silver Award (HK$30,000.- for scholarship)
for Choi Ka Lok, Kenny from China Hong Kong for the shoe ‘Spanish Bullfighter’.

Sabatina Bronze Award (HK$20,000- for scholarship)
for Dong Yewen from China for the shoe ‘Spring Scenes of February’.
