Llorraine Neithardt NY – Mastering the art of shoemaking summer classes

Shoe Fine Art – is not just shoe-making, but shoe-making at its most inspired, soul-making at its most profound. At the core of each class is the promise of discovery for the exploring amateur as well as solid progress, opportunities and mentoring for those with an eye toward becoming professional shoe designers in a non-competitive environment that respects the natural talents and nurtures the budding artist in each individual.

If this past year were to become a book its name would be ‘Life Lessons From The World’s Most Original Shoemakers!’ It would share the adventures, mishaps, delights, inspired creativity, mistakes that turned into magic and our passion for ‘all things Shoe’! And most importantly, it would honor the remarkable people that have stepped over the threshold into my shoemaking classes and life.

Llorraine Neithardt: ‘To my students of 2011 – I wish to applaud your creativity, talent, bravery, imagination and the discipline exhibited by you each to complete your shoe making tasks. I pay tribute to your lives, the rich stories that were shared of the deep meaning of life in all it’s phases, the celebration of friendships made and most certainly, the shoes we wore along the journey and those that will be made and worn as the stories continue.’
