Tom Carbone

Tom Carbone, adjunct faculty at the College for Creative Studies, graduated with a BFA Crafts degree from CCS Detroit USA, in 2002. Tomโ€™s range of experience is wide; he has worked in ceramics, jewelry, metals, wood, and glass. Among dozens of other lesser interests Tomโ€™s personal creative outlets have included pottery, sculpture, and Studio Furniture. Currently he studies shoemaking, creates theatrical shoes, and makes hand-tools for the art of shoemaking.

Carbone: “Shoes as sculpture, on and off the foot. I am now able to put to use all of my experience, training, and talent into the creation of beautiful shoes; the ultimate in functional sculpture.”
