Tom Carbone, adjunct faculty at the College for Creative Studies, graduated with a BFA Crafts degree from CCS Detroit USA, in 2002. Tom’s range of experience is wide; he has worked in ceramics, jewelry, metals, wood, and glass. Among dozens of other lesser interests Tom’s personal creative outlets have included pottery, sculpture, and Studio Furniture. Currently he studies shoemaking, creates theatrical shoes, and makes hand-tools for the art of shoemaking.
Carbone: “Shoes as sculpture, on and off the foot. I am now able to put to use all of my experience, training, and talent into the creation of beautiful shoes; the ultimate in functional sculpture.”
