Tehilah Goldman-Baklor

Wooden slipper, childish fun combined with a practical item, 2021.

Goldman: ‘I have always loved three-dimensional puzzles, like a ‘dovetail puzzle’: only solvable with one specific movement. There’s something about feeling what you’re doing and succeeding with your own hands.

Then I looked up sandals and I found ‘Tengu-geta’, a one toothed Japanese sandal with a wooden base. Wearing the sandals is like a balancing game and I thought what better to combine…’ Mentor : Eliora Lemmer Ginsburg/ Bezalel, Jewelry & Fashion. Dep.

Materials: veg. tan leather and aniline dye.
