Lekkerkerker: ‘Since forever I have been fascinated by bandaids. I like the material of bandaids because of how they stretch around the body or finger. We use bandaids as protection for our wounds and we use footwear as protection of our feet. I wanted to create this sneaker as an experiment, see if the bandaid material would work as protective footwear. Turns out that if you bring extra bandaids, you can always repair your shoes if they are damaged.’
