Visual artist Romy Yedidia’s practice lies at the intersection of sculpture, installation, video, and performance. Drawing upon her background in architecture as well as visual arts, and making parallels between gender performativity and the built environment, her work comments on body control, the male gaze, and patriarchy.
Romy Yedidia holds an MA in Fine Arts from HEAD – Genève (Geneva, CH) and a BA in Architectural Design from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (Amsterdam, NL). She was awarded the Stipendium for Emerging Artists by the Mondriaan Fund (NL). Her work was exhibited in venues such as Jungkunst (Winterthur, CH), U10 Art Space (Belgrade, RS), Fabienne Levy Gallery (Geneva, CH), Art Rotterdam (Rotterdam, NL), De Bijenkorf (NL), Arti et Amicitiae (Amsterdam, NL), W139 (Amsterdam, NL), Beelden in Leiden (Leiden, NL), UY Studio (Berlin, DE). Her sculptures are displayed in & Other Stories’ and the Mondriaan Fund’s collections.
