Biography by Pol Engels (1958-2015) was an Antwerp based designer driven by a passion for all things authentic and by the little peculiarities that define them. Pol Engels graduated from the Antwerp Fashion Academy alongside The Antwerp Six (6 influential avant-garde fashion designers who graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in the 1980s. Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, Walter Van Beirendonck, Dirk Van Saene, Dirk Bikkembergs and Marina Yee and made their international breakthrough in London in 1986 and put Antwerp on the map as a fashion capital). Over the years he earned a solid reputation as Jan Fabres theatre costume maker.
