Patterns in conversation! – Nooit te bont!
The International Clog Museum pays tribute to the diversity of clogs and wooden footwear in a vibrant explosion of colour and creativity. The exhibition ‘Patterns in conversation’ is a celebration of craftsmanship and artistic imagination where the down-to-earth wooden shoe becomes a canvas for boundless expression. On show from March 30 till November 3 2024, in Eelde, The Netherlands.
Famous artists and designers, including renowned Dutch shoe designer Jan Jansen, have designed and created masterpieces of wooden footwear. The result is stunning: a rainbow of colours and bold designs. From traditional painted Staphorster dots to clogs painted with motorbike logos. Each pair of clogs tells its own unique story.
In the enchanting exhibition ‘Patterns in conversation’, French masterpieces come together with archetypal Dutch craft, with clogs showing off ornately carved animals, flowers and frivolous curls. The International Clog Museum is the proud custodian of this extreme variety of clogs, a celebration of cultural fusion and artistic freedom. This is not just another exhibition; it is a vibrant celebration of diversity and creativity, where every wooden shoe becomes a unique work of art.
