Inspired by the Asura Rubra fungus, 2014.
I was inspired by the fungus’ shape, texture and life cycle. The fungus begins his life by utilizing its arms to force his way out of an egg. Similarly the upper part of the shoe with its emerging arms latches firmly on to the shoe’s sole locking the human foot tightly inside.
Materials: sole leather and beech wood.
Technique: wet molding, hand sculpting and carving.
The shoes where the product of the shoe course at the Bezalel Academy of art and design, with professor Eliora Lemmer Ginsburg.
