Part of the graduation collection ‘ZELLIJ, 4 pairs of shoes, 4th year SASK, d’Academie Beeld Sint-Niklaas in Belgium, 2021.

This collection is inspired by Arabic geometic patterns. Marrocan ‘Zellij’ tiles use a square as basic form. By duplicating this multiple times this results in fascinating shapes. This collection is made of sillicon molded on plast lasts. Sillicon is regularly used in orthopedic shoe techniques, used for treatment of burns or for orthoses that must be water-repellent. All paterns are embroidered with beads.

Material: sillicon moulds and beads.
