Kaito Yamamoto

Kaito Yamamoto began playing basketball in the sixth grade of elementary school. Wanting to take the sport more seriously, he left his parents’ home and enrolled at Fujinobe High School. However, due to an injury, he had to give up playing and instead became the team manager, supporting his teammates from the sidelines. This experience led him to consider becoming a physical therapist to ‘heal injuries’, but before that he developed a desire to create shoes that could prevent injuries. Ultimately, he decided to pursue a career in shoemaking.

Yamamoto is currently studying shoemaking at Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry. After moving to Tokyo, his interest in fashion deepened, and he became more conscious of incorporating functionality into his fashion creations. Initially enrolled in the Fashion Course (Shoemaker Master Course) at Mizuno Gakuen Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry, he transferred to the Jewelry Course in 2024.

Nominated for the YKK Fastening Awards & the Japan Leather Award in 2024.
