From flat surface to 3D – From traditional craft to contemporary art, 2015.
This project is about the influence of a new technology in the field of design and traditional crafts. The aim of the research is to find contact point between new technologies and innovations and the traditional crafts. In the past professionals of design and crafts used their own tools to create and produce their works. Jewelers used tools which fitted just jewelers’ needs, graphic designers used the software which were used specifically for graphic design, shoemakers used their specific tools only in their workshops. The goals of my research is to answer a question how to keep professional exclusivity, what makes design and craft specialists differ in their fields if they all use the same tools to produce their works. And what about the secret of hand touch.
