Those shoes have a history that make them independent from the human. In the collective unconsicous, we don’t need a character to recognise the origin of the shoe. Shoes symbolize power. When a shoe is linked to mythical or symbolic displacement, it has its own yet sometimes magical properties that allows its owner to free themselves from the laws of nature.
