For many years, Iris Schieferstein (1966 – 2024) used dead animals as raw materials for her artworks. By rearranging fragments in unique ways, she created new creatures, giving a fresh face to death.
Whether inspired by the compositions of great art masters or forming reimagined objects into letters, her work consistently reflected a refined aesthetic sensibility and a talent for subtle, thought-provoking expression.
The earlier you die – the longer you are dead.
