Classic patent office shoe on an extraordinary angle on a plateau, collection ILJA A/W, 2011/12.

Developed in collaboration of Ilja Visser and shoe designer René van den Berg. Standard fashion is here interpretated in a totally new manner and turns the serious atmosphere in the government into a impressive show.

Inspired by the seriousness politicians express through their dress- and behavior codes in public. The daily routine of sitting in the cabinet, debating about important decisions, motivated designer Ilja Visser to turn the whole picture around and interpretating her very own picture of the saying ‘sitting in the pluche’. The collection is dominated by elaborately braided fake fur, which grows in and out of the complex constructed dresses and coats.
