Under the inspiring leadership of René van den Berg and Kobi Levi you will work towards creating your own design, a complete pair of wearable shoes. From the initial concept to the final product, René and Kobi will share all their secrets about shoe design, techniques and construction. The focus is on providing a practical, hands-on learning experience that empowers you to express your creativity and expand your skills. By the end of the course, you will have honed your expertise and crafted a unique pair of shoes that reflects your personal style, creativity, and craftsmanship.

Selection criteria
To ensure maximum attention during these 6 days course, there’s a maximum number of 6 participant. We really want you to get the most out of this course, to improve your skills, to craft you own design and create a real piece of art. Therefore, there’s a selection, based on originality and manufacturability of your designs.

The entry closes on Monday May 27 2024. After gathering the entries, a selection will be made and you’ll be informed before Monday June 3 2024. All entries will be treated with confidentiality. Whether you’re selected or not, your designs will remain yours.
Pricing and specifications
• Date: August 26th – 31st 2024
• Location: Netherlands (Hoofddorp, near Schiphol and Amsterdam)
• The course will be guided by internationally renowned footwear creators René van den Berg and Kobi Levi throughout all lessons.
• Language: the course is in English.
• There’s a maximum number of 6 participants.
• The course will run through 6 full days in the studio of Rene van den Berg Academy (9:00-17:00).
• The studio is fully equipped with all the machinery needed for realizing the ideas into actual pairs of shoes.
• The pricing includes equipment and materials to be used in the studio. Tools can also be borrowed for the duration of the masterclass. Students are allowed to bring their tools and materials as well as combine them.
• The complete pair belongs to the students and it’s theirs to take after it’s been photographed.
• Every day there’s a lunch included.
• The price for this unique master course: € 3500,- (0% VAT).
