Interference

Evelien Sommen

Marble vinyl, painted gingham textile and rope open toe ankle boot, 2019.

Inspired by the glitch effect on photos and shards of mirrors/glass.

Sommen: ‘I found the inspiration for this collection in the broader context of various interfering phenomena and disturbances: on the one hand the scientific interference as it occurs with magnetic waves and sound waves, the glitch effect in photos and videos, all kinds of shapes/patterns/reflections that are broken; but on the other hand also the emotional interference, such as personality disorders and personal dilemmas/uncertainties.’
