For this collection I collected materials that hold the same characteristics, like strength and flexibility, as are needed for the functional parts of the shoe. I experimented with ways to shape these materials and connect them to each other. As a result I created parts like a bend wood veneer shank/heal reinforcement combination and a metal 3D printed shank that fits perfectly into a 3D milled wooden heal. I designed the functional parts and in the end matched them together to form a total shoe. Resulting in a transparent collection that is made with local products and techniques.
