Dutch fashion designer/creative developer, Ellen Bloo, graduated from HKU, Utrecht in 2021.
Bloo: ‘In daily life I always look around. My inspiration comes from organic shapes and have a strong feeling for materials and concept. I like objects related to the domain of sculpture and architecture. I strive for a minimalist design with an innovative result.
In my opinion we have lost the craft and technology in this mass industry. We no longer have a feeling for material and we certainly don’t know where the material comes from and how it is made. With the passion for craft I want to show people a formally pure image again and make them aware that a material is more than something you live with on a daily basis. All my products are made from environmentally conscious or dead stock materials and purchased from the local community.’
