Disney’s Bad for Good (Le Mal pour le Bien) Auction

Organised by The Walt Disney Company France the exhibition ‘Bad for Good’ gathers creators around their childhood memories of Disney movies. They built on their Disney’s souvenirs to produce original pieces… Exhibition show at Espace Commines 17 in Paris June 10 and 11 from 10.00 till 19.00, June 12 from 10.00 till 15.00. Auction date June 12 at 20.00. This auction includes a pair of black Witch shoes by Kobi Levi.


The works of 23 creators working within the fashion industry, the visual and fine arts one, cinema, literature and haute cuisine area will be auctioned in favor of La Source association, founded by artist Gérard Garouste. Tajan auction house will be leading the sale. It has already been many years since fashion designers and artists have reinterpreted iconic Disney characters with their very own sensitivity. This time, Disney has been willing to give them carte blanche to create works not only from a character but from an entire universe: the one relating to Bad and Good, timeless and ever present common theme to all Disney creations.

All of them have brought to l fe a personal souvenir of Bad or Good from an animated movie seen during their childhood.

The works gathered, most of them being brand new creations, will illustrate Disney movies’ eternal vocation: ‘Over at our place, we’re sure of just one thing: everybody in the world was once a child. So in planning a new picture, we don’t think of grown ups, and we don’t think of children, but just of that fine, clean, unspoiled spot down deep in every one of us that maybe the world has made us forget and that maybe our pictures can help recall’ Walt Disney.

The Walt Disney Company France has wanted that the operation ‘Bad for Good’ can contribute to its vocation of hand over and solidarity amongst children, which has already been developed for many years with various associations in favour of childhood.

The auction will therefore be in favor of La Source association created in 1991 by painter Gérard Garouste, who intends to help children and young people facing social problems, both family and school related, and to develop their artistic creativity in various fields (www.associationlasource.fr).
