Daniyar Uderbekov

Daniyar Uderbekov is a Kazakhstan designer whose work has become a bridge between ancient traditions and modern technologies. Born in Kazakhstan, a country with a rich cultural heritage and ancient craft traditions, Daniyar has been surrounded by natural materials and handmade work. He is inspired by the idea that if the Neolithic era had not disappeared over the centuries, but had continued to evolve, it could have been expressed in modern objects combining archaic aesthetics with advanced technology.

Today, Daniyar works not only with felt but also with natural stone, emphasizing the eco-friendliness of his projects. He combines felt, a traditional material of nomadic people, with frames made from garden tool handles and elements of recycled plastic. Natural stone, in turn, adds strength, natural beauty, and durability to his works.
In 2022, he created a felt collection that included an armchair, an ottoman, and a shelving unit, which gained recognition in competitions, including the finals of Rossana Orlandi’s Guiltless Plastic 2023 in Milan.

Uderbekov strives to create objects that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also sustainable, using natural materials and recycled resources. His work is a synthesis of tradition, modern technology, and respect for nature, inspiring new experiments. He has participated in exhibitions in Moscow, Brussels, Eindhoven (DDW), Milan  and Almaty. His pieces are held in various museums and private collections.
