Sculpture, platform flip-flops made from aluminium tubing, 2025.
Inspired by Japanese Geta (traditional clogs dating back to 300 BC and often made of wood) the designer focused on a reinterpretation of this traditional accessory. Among Geta varieties, the particularly tall ‘Koma-Geta’ was once worn by high-ranking courtesans in Japan. Wishing to reinvent this symbol of the past, she drew inspiration from ingots to design a modern, radical version. Rather than retaining the lightness of traditional sandals, she opted for heavy, metallic rigid flip-flops, breaking ergonomic codes and bringing a futuristic dimension to a historic piece.
