We are manipulated from childhood onwards, by society, people around us as well as by fashion and other media. We learn to express our sex by showing our gendered body, dressed according to the rules. I created men’s footgear that plays with the masculine and the feminine. It is my aim not to criticize femininity nor masculinity but our manipulated and fixed view on these. The mass decides what we accept or do not accept since these views have to fit conventional rules. Therefore, I combined clichéd feminine and masculine aspects in one pair of foot-objects.
