Piech: ‘When watching ‘The Rize’, the unusual movements of crumping really struck me. Stills from the film inspired forms, movement and silhouettes. Combining crumping with my Polish background was natural. Poland’s communist era until 1989 was a time of hardship, but also surprisingly rich in design. Personally, I feel nostalgia rather than negativity about that period.’
